MultiCell AF – 3D Printing
03.10.2018
By the end of 2017, the R&D project for modernization of the IDMS rotary airlock was successfully finished. The project included design of the new machine, prototype manufacturing and its extensive trials in our test field.
The outcome of this project is new blow through rotary airlock MultiCell AF (MCA), having many benefits for our customers:
-
Optimized flow meaning more effective dosing of alternative fuels to the system.
-
Brand new maintenance concept meaning significant reduction of shut down times.
-
Variable nozzle regulation allowing air flow modifications during machine run.
For manufacturing of the nozzles a 3D printer is used. This allows use of progressive nozzle shapes enabling efficient chamber cleaning and more effective dosing of the fuel.
Our 3D printer is in full duty now, currently making nozzles for machines going to Mexico and Greece and helping us in reaching our goal of selling 20 MCA rotary airlocks in the first year on the market.
