Pre-prototyping in R&D
25.10.2017
As SchenckProcess is an innovative company that deals with latest technology trends, the R&D department uses 3D printing to support a development.
Easy visualization of ideas of our designers results into 3D printed pre-prototypes, which do help to find more effective technical solution of researched parts or assemblies. This approach of development leads to decrease risk of design mistakes and decrease the cost of designed equipment.
As an example of pre-prototype a scaled model of screw conveyor was 3D printed, to find the correct sizing, where the knowledge gathered was implemented into functional prototype tested in test center (comparison can be seen on video).
